Straw yellow. Mineral, concentrated scent of highly ripe yellow-fleshed fruits. Powerful Riesling with a distinctly perceptible, slightly warming alcohol. Filigree acidity on the tongue, salty minerality, harmonious, well balanced residual sugar, outstanding length, great persistence.

Dark garnet red with medium transparency. In the nose with cool Pinot fruit and a hint of sour cherry. On the palate again, and this time more clearly, sour cherry, combined with an enormous, ethereal echoing spice. Great freshness, partly crumbly, sandy, partly fine-grained tannins. Excellent length, very persistent. Needs time.

Lemon yellow to white gold. Highly mineral, cool aroma of lime and pickled fruit (pear and peach). Tropical hints of passion fruit. Spicy attack on the palate with distinct woodruff notes. Intense and vibrant, delicate sweetness. A lean and refined cool climate Kabinett from quartzite-rich slate soil. Its aroma (not its fullness) is strikingly reminiscent of a Riesling from the Dhroner Hofberg. Excellent length. Lingers for minutes.

We have been following the development of this wine for almost a decade. A development that was anything but straightforward. After an early storm and stress phase, it retreated for a while in its first summer. We deliberately gave it the time it needed to mature with dignity. It is now at the peak of its development. It could not be better. However, thanks to the roulette of natural corks, it is no longer the day but the bottle shape that determines how well it is doing. The last bottle available to us shows it once again in top form and significantly better than our previous tasting in August. While the bottle opened at that time already showed significant notes of maturity, today the wine presents itself much fresher and more focused. Bright golden yellow with a greenish touch. With time, a more subtle peach aroma with faint hints of mint. Fine roasted aromas resulting from biological acid reduction. Aristocratic stature on the palate. Rests in itself, but still shows enormous spice with great depth and fine, now integrated acidity. At only 12 % alcohol, it seems more voluminous than it actually is. Typical of its origin. Excellent length. Has more than fulfilled earlier expectations.

Brilliant golden yellow. Concentrated peach scent with ethereal components and hints of mint. Enormously spicy on the palate, with great depth and fine, vibrating acidity. With only 12 % vol alcohol, it appears much more voluminous. Typical for its origin. Excellent length. Has fulfilled earlier expectations and still promises a grandiose future.

🯅The rating of the wine is based on a single taster. The taster is named in the context of the rating. The tasting was either open or blind. In case of a blind tasting, it is explicitly labelled as such.
🯅🯅The rating of the wine is based on two tasters. The tasters are named in the context of the rating. The tasting was carried out according to the four-eyes principle, in which both tasters agree on a joint rating.
🯅🯅🯅The rating is based on a tasting by our jury and indicates the Mean value calculated by us from the individual ratings of the tasters. Our mean value is based on the median.
The wine was evaluated in a blind tasting. We have strict rules for blind tastings. The tasters do not receive any information that would allow them to identify the wines. The tasters are only given access to further information that goes beyond the subject matter if it is absolutely necessary for understanding the wines.
🕓We only had limited time to taste the wine  - typically during an open tasting event, such as a wine fair. It was therefore not possible to observe the development of the wine in the glass over a longer period of time. The informative value of our rating may therefore be limited under certain circumstances.
The wine was tasted as a barrel sample or before an official test number (Amtliche Prüfungsnummer or Staatliche Prüfnummer) was issued. We only accept samples of unfilled wines in exceptional cases, and then only if we can assume sufficient stability in the bottle for a period of at least three months.
During our tasting, the wine showed conspicuous sensory characteristics. This does not necessarily have to be a wine fault. We categorise the quality and quantity of the abnormality and include it in the rating. Wine faults such as cork taint or an atypical ageing generally lead to a complete rejection.
Tastings that refer to the same bottle of a wine are visually summarised by a dotted line.
