The rating of the wine reflects the mean value from a tasting by our jury.
The wine was evaluated in a blind tasting.
The wine was tasted as a barrel sample or before an official test number (Amtliche Prüfungsnummer or Staatliche Prüfnummer) was issued.
The wine exhibited a sensory abnormality during our tasting. This does not necessarily have to be a qualitative defect or a wine fault. In the case of a qualitative impairment, a devaluation or rejection was made depending on the type and severity of the defect or wine fault.

Almost completely opaque black-red colour. Concentrated aroma of dark forest berries, strongly characterised by distinctive but subtle roasted aromas. A dense, full-bodied wine with a style more akin to a refined, classic German Pinot Noir than a cool, modern Pinot Noir. Nevertheless, a clear development in the right direction compared to earlier years. The use of wood appears more restrained and delicate than was usual here in earlier years, the sandy and crumbly tannins emphasise more than they cover, the acidity is sufficiently prominent to prevent the wine from appearing broad or even rustic. Nevertheless, I could imagine a little more finesse and elegance here. Very good to excellent length.

Garnet red with medium transparency. Bouquet overlaid with clear reduction notes with aromas of dark wild strawberries, especially blueberries. Difficult to judge on the tongue, but obviously comes from good basic material. Fine roasted aromas, stable acidity, velvety to coarse-grained, well polymerised tannins. Very long and persistent. Unfortunately, even treatment in the Ovarius decanter cannot resolve the reduction problem.

Transparent garnet red. Spicy, ethereal scent of sour cherry and blueberry with roast flavours. On the tongue with fine and velvety, predominantly coarse-grained and chocolaty tannins. Herb spicy and elegant, quite pronounced, but well integrated acidity. Outstanding length. Requires Ovarius decanter.

Dark, slightly transparent, cloudy cherry red colour. Slightly liquoricey on the nose at first, with increasing vegetal components with air. Fruity opulence, alternating between cherry and lighter red berries. Delicate hints of chocolate and a spicy note. On the palate, it is quite corpulent, but still has the elegance typical of Pinot. Sweetish fruit, fine acidity, partly velvety, partly sandy tannins with a subtle bitterness. Very good length, decent depth. Well matured overall, still has reserves for a good three to five years.
