Almost opaque, exceptionally intense black colour for the grape variety with a brightening rim. In the opulent nose, clear, chocolaty roasted aromas with an ethereal component. Memorable aroma of blackberry and other, partly cooked dark berries, especially blueberry. Warming in the mouth. Stylistically quite old-fashioned Pinot Noir. The use of wood seems somewhat exaggerated to me. Despite its rustic charm, the Kräuterberg does not lack a certain freshness, which is reflected in a still intact acidity structure. However, the Mayschoß vintners have largely sacrificed elegance and finesse for the undoubtedly impressive concentration. The good characteristics of the grapes are unmistakable (even if the optimum harvest time was perhaps missed by a few days). Outstanding length and persistence.
