On the palate with green-herbaceous flavours and vital, stimulating acidity. Flavours of walnut. Ethereal freshness on the long finish. Excellent finish.

Slightly cloudy dark garnet to cherry red with low to medium transparency. Aroma of red forest berries, primarily blackberries and raspberries. An elegant Pinot Noir which, despite its delicacy, still has robust but well-integrated, coarse-grained and sandy tannins. Spicy fruit. Lively acidity, very good length.

Obviously a later bottling of the wine. Slightly cloudy, bright lemon yellow colour. Smells of conference pear and sun-ripened lemon. Some cinnamon in the background. Juicy fruit fullness, vital acidity, fine green herbaceous flavour component, lime, nettle and white gooseberry. Outstanding length.

Pale yellow. Multi-layered scent of pineapple, pear and cranberry. Light-footed on the palate, shows a high aromatic density and creamy texture at the same time. Moderate acidity. Excellent balance. Resting in itself. Unpretentious appearance, reveals its greatness – typical for Thomas Harteneck's wines – only on the second or third sip. Very good length. A showpiece Gutedel.

Sophisticated white wine cuvée of Müller-Thurgau and Johanniter. Light yellow. The nose reveals fine tropical aromas, especially pineapple. Elegant texture on the tongue, at the same time expressive and so not at all the harmless summer wine that may be associated with the name. Excellent balance, very good length.

Golden yellow with discreet cloudiness. Herbaceous and scents of beeswax, honey, cinnamon and pear. Creamy on the tongue, with aromas of dried herbs. Elegant acidity, warming tannins, excellent length and persistence.

Cloudy, bright lemon yellow with white-golden reflections. Already in the nose with great complexity. Characterised by the fruit of a sun-ripened lemon and green herbs. But also other aromas, mainly reminiscent of Galia melon, but partly also of Cantaloupe melon. Gripping and animating on the tongue. Juicy and with an unadorned, vital, even radiant acidity. The longer the wine remains in the glass, the more complex it becomes. Quince comes to the fore, but also some honey spice and vanilla. In addition, nuances of cranberry, delicately coated in white chocolate. Pineapple on the finish. Outstanding length, excellent finish. A great natural wine that also shows what Chasselas can achieve in the hands of a highly talented winemaker.

Bright, amazing clear yellow. Pear dominates the aroma, both on the nose and on the tongue. Unmasked, but pleasant and animating acidity. At only 10.5% vol alcohol, light but not thin. Shows style and character. Very good length.

Cuvée of Chasselas, Auxerrois and Pinot Noir. Light rosé to orange gold. Puristic, animating aroma of yellow apple, mirabelle plum and the caramelised crust of a crème brûlée. Perfectly integrated carbonic acid. Excellent balance. Needs some air to develop fully in the glass. Then gains more and more depth. Some walnut in the finish. Excellent length, good food companion.

Cloudy amber orange. Already enormously complex on the nose, reminiscent of a Sauvignon Blanc due to the pyrazines. Aromas of gooseberry. Vegetal component. Great concentration without seeming ponderous or even saturating. Warming phenols, without any trace of bitterness. Complex spiciness. Balanced dry taste experience. Very good length.

Delicate salmon red with orange touch. Significant turbidity. A natural wine with prominent varietal characteristics. On the nose aromas of melon, grapefruit and hazelnut. Disgorged in May 2023 after 24 months on the lees. Light green with a very fine perlage. Complex, yellow-fruity aroma of brioche with a hint of caramel. Highly elegant on the palate, with an exceptionally fine mousseaux, complex Chardonnay fruit, delicate honey spice, excellent depth, length and persistence. Currently in impressive condition.

In the meantime, it shows a clear cloudiness with an unchanged bright straw yellow. The nose is now dominated by pineapple, pear and melon, with hints of star fruit still visible. On the palate, juicy fruitiness and distinct mineral notes. Creamy and very well balanced under a lively, vibrant fermentation carbonation, with fine acidity and delicate spice in the long finish. An initial slight bitterness dissipates under the influence of air. Sustained and penetrating.

Bright straw yellow. Auxerrois characterised by limestone soil and mineral notes. Complex scent of liquorice, melon, conference pear, candied pineapple and star fruit, underscored by vanilla and lemongrass. Also on the palate marked by Jura limestone. Due to the malolactic effect, it is slightly buttery and has a delicate creaminess. Balanced, with elegant acidity, playful and always showing new facets. Excellent length. Although only minimally sulphurised, extremely stable, even under prolonged contact with air.

Light greenish yellow with straw-yellow reflections. On the nose with mineral, earthy notes, floral touch and discreet fruit aromas reminiscent of fully ripe pear and lemon. On the tongue, light-bodied yet with high flavour intensity. Delicately creamy and juicy. Very dry, at the same time extremely moderate in acidity, yet vibrant and with traction, in the style of an animating Kabinett. Very good length.

Bright copper pink with distinct haze. Refreshing and youthful scent of pink grapefruit, cantaloupe melon, green apple and red apple skin. Juicy fruit, which forms a red thread from the nose to the finale on the palate. In the mouth with noticeable carbonic acid and striking, almost sweetish phenolic, which gives structure without significant bitterness. Vital acidity, very dry, excellent length.

Who says, an unsulfured wine cannot age in grace? We are not talking about a decade, of course. That would indeed be presumptuous. But the “Diva”, with that Thomas Harteneck pursues the concept of a primeur, is now entering its fourth year in the bottle and proves to be extraordinarily stable. The initially still faintly transparent cherry red darkens with air and becomes completely opaque. Speaking of air, it does no harm. Initially still stormy and unbridled, the aromas round out more and more. The cherry, already perceptible in the youth, is still as present as the black currant. Elegance and delicacy drive each other to the extreme here. Velvety, perfectly woven tannins are perceivable on the tongue as slightly grainy. The acidity is soft but quite vital. Spicy finish. Great depth and length. A natural wine as we could only wish for and one that actually gets even better with maturity because it is more harmonious, complex and subtle. Almost everything fits here.

Initially still transparent light garnet red with a distinct haze. Later, with some air, it appears opaque in dark cherry red. Purple edge. Complex, delicate smoky scent of graphite and a hint of black and sour cherry. Some black currant jam and caramel. On the tongue it is very fine, elegant and perfectly balanced. Predominantly velvety, sometimes coarse-grained tannins, which spread harmoniously throughout the mouth without pushing to the fore. Protruding fruit, but in no way striking. Soft acidity. Great depth and length.

Opaque black red. Complex scent of dark berries, especially blackberry and chokeberry, blueberry and elderberry jam, milk chocolate and black tea. Well integrated, slightly warming alcohol. Shows a harmonious interplay of fruit and distinctive, coarse-grained tannins with herbal facets on the palate. Fine, elegant acidity. Resting in itself. In the finish again clearly chocolate. Excellent length and depth.

Cuvée of Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris. Pale greenish golden yellow. Fine perlage. Delicate yeasty nose with a discreet oxidative note and a complex aroma variety of brioche, citrus fruits, strawberry, dried stone fruit, honey, walnut, some pear compote and herbal hints of lovage. Very fine, but also lively mousseux. Multilayered depth. Intense, as it were not exuberant fruit aromas, now primarily reminiscent of pear. Excellent length. Invites to meditation, but is just as suitable as a food companion.

Cherry red with medium transparency. Balsamic scent with hints of raspberry. Very spicy, with partly fine sandy, partly velvety and chocolaty tannins. At 14 % vol alcohol anything but a pussyfooter, powerful and with an opulence that never exceeds the healthy measure. Reminiscent of the flesh of a blood orange in the finish. Excellent length.

Cuvée of Cabernet Mitos, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Deep dark, opaque black red. Strong, essentially coarse-grained tannin structure, balanced and appealing fruit, cocoa again on the palate, excellent depth and length.

Full, greenish shimmering straw yellow with a white gold core. Very complex bouquet, on the one hand with buttery notes on the nose, on the other hand with expansive fruit and mineral spiciness. Scents of pineapple, lemongrass, ginger and ripe lime. In the mouth with a fruity attack, again some butter and a powerful minerality. Lively acidity. Excellent length, reverberation lasting several minutes. Remarkable: Only 12.5 % vol alcohol. A very independent and authentic Pinot Blanc produced according to Demeter guidelines, which for me is one of the most interesting wines produced from this variety in this country.

Light amber yellow. Alcoholic, slightly buttery aroma of marzipan and buttercream tart, gently underpinned by candied apricots. Powerful on the palate, but anything but ponderous. At 15.5 % vol alcohol, a real balancing act that succeeds amazingly well. Thanks to a skilfully selected botrytis, it manages without the bitter notes that are often common in a Pinot Gris of this weight class. Creamy and smooth on the tongue. Doesn't taste too dry and doesn't seem clumsy at all, even with increasing dwell time in the mouth. Excellent length. Has style – although not everyone will like it because of its individuality.
