Straw to golden yellow with a green core and brightening reflections. Mature dry Riesling with delicate floral notes. No longer reductive. Shows no primary fruit, but plenty of terroir. Still clearly recognisable, vibrant red sandstone minerality. Full-bodied, with well-integrated acidity. Fine, pleasant phenolics on the finish. Excellent length.

Straw to golden yellow in colour. Partly herbal-spicy, partly reductive citrus fragrance with a delicate floral component and notes of burnt matches in the background. Discreet maturity. Piquant, lively acidity. Recognisable, vibrant red sandstone minerality. Fine, pleasant phenolic flavour on the finish. Excellent length.

Opaque dark cherry red with no lightening at the rim. Aroma of pencil lead and blackberry with spicy, slightly ethereal notes. Very dense on the palate. Not overly powerful, but with a finely woven structure. Blackberry and cocoa aromas from velvety tannins form a successful combination. Elegant acidity, only present in the background. Typical red sandstone spice on the palate. Perfect balance. Excellent length.

Slightly cloudy, slightly transparent cherry red. Spicy and salty scent of bright red berries, white pepper. Elegant and silky on the tongue, the tannins, which were still a bit rough in their youthful stage, have smoothed out well over time and are now present but harmoniously integrated. Fine fruity with clear hints of sour cherry. Stable acidity, excellent length.

Opaque dark garnet red. On the nose, subtle wood notes interplay with blackberry fruit. The wood – not necessarily barrique – also lends the wine a very subtle structure on the palate without masking the fruit, which is again clearly blackberry. In addition to the fruit, the typical, almost unmistakable red sandstone minerality of the Klingenberg Schlossberg, where the wine originates, comes to the fore, even though it is officially only classified as VDP.ORTSWEIN. The tannins are predominantly velvety, partly fine-grained and coarse-grained, but also have a slightly drying effect due to the vintage. Very long and with a good finish.

Dark, opaque black red. Rich bouquet with densely packed fruit aromas of blackberry, underpinned by some cassis. Pronounced but well-integrated toasty aromas. Excellent concentration on the palate, balanced by a fine acidity. Harmonious, partly coarse-grained, partly fine-grained tannins. Subtle spice, skilful use of wood. Excellent length. Hardly aged appreciably, still needs plenty of air and should be decanted. A great Cabernet Franc.

Medium garnet with brick-red reflections and slightly brightened edge. In the nose with the typical red sandstone spice from Klingenberger Schlossberg and fine aromas of cranberry. Still very fresh on the tongue, not least thanks to a stable acid framework. Partly coarse-grained, partly velvety, quite distinctive, but mostly high-quality tannins, although they seem a bit uncouth. Excellent length and persistence.

Symbols
🯅The rating of the wine is based on a single taster. The taster is named in the context of the rating. The tasting was either open or blind. In case of a blind tasting, it is explicitly labelled as such.
🯅🯅The rating of the wine is based on two tasters. The tasters are named in the context of the rating. The tasting was carried out according to the four-eyes principle, in which both tasters agree on a joint rating.
🯅🯅🯅The rating is based on a tasting by our jury and indicates the Mean value calculated by us from the individual ratings of the tasters. Our mean value is based on the median.
The wine was evaluated in a blind tasting. We have strict rules for blind tastings. The tasters do not receive any information that would allow them to identify the wines. The tasters are only given access to further information that goes beyond the subject matter if it is absolutely necessary for understanding the wines.
🕓We only had limited time to taste the wine  - typically during an open tasting event, such as a wine fair. It was therefore not possible to observe the development of the wine in the glass over a longer period of time. The informative value of our rating may therefore be limited under certain circumstances.
The wine was tasted as a barrel sample or before an official test number (Amtliche Prüfungsnummer or Staatliche Prüfnummer) was issued. We only accept samples of unfilled wines in exceptional cases, and then only if we can assume sufficient stability in the bottle for a period of at least three months.
During our tasting, the wine showed conspicuous sensory characteristics. This does not necessarily have to be a wine fault. We categorise the quality and quantity of the abnormality and include it in the rating. Wine faults such as cork taint or an atypical ageing generally lead to a complete rejection.
Tastings that refer to the same bottle of a wine are visually summarised by a dotted line.
