The rating of the wine reflects the mean value from a tasting by our jury.
The wine was evaluated in a blind tasting.
The wine was tasted as a barrel sample or before an official test number (Amtliche Prüfungsnummer or Staatliche Prüfnummer) was issued.
The wine exhibited a sensory abnormality during our tasting. This does not necessarily have to be a qualitative defect or a wine fault. In the case of a qualitative impairment, a devaluation or rejection was made depending on the type and severity of the defect or wine fault.

Light yellow-grey with lemon-yellow core. The first maturity in the nose prove to be extremely volatile. The peach fruit still looks youthful and captivates with its clarity. In the mouth, a pronounced cool climate aroma: a slender, dry Kabinett with fine, rather discreet fruit aromas, a delicate sweetness and an impressive freshness. The acidity is piquant, but ripe and well integrated. Good aromatic density in the astonishingly long aftertaste.

Gold to amber yellow. Shows an above-average viscosity in the glass. Thanks to a perfect botrytis selection in the difficult 2006 vintage with exceptional clarity and precision. Opulent fruit density, changing in bouquet between peach and apricot, also with passion fruit and mango as representatives of tropical aromas. Slightly buttery fragrance component, which could indicate an incipient malolactic fermentation. The remaining sensory acidity is very mature and excellently integrated. A perfect harmony, which however took its time (12 years). Not too sweet and with excellent length. Timeless.

Clear straw yellow. Elegant Riesling fragrance of candied citrus fruits. Subtle honey note. In the mouth delicate and elegant fruit. In the context of Beerenauslese on the tongue rather a light weight. Without the opulence of the vintage, but still with the typical fullness on the palate of more concentrated Rieslings from the Pündericher Marienburg. Compared to its youth, the alcohol – 12 % according to the label – is hardly noticeable any more. Harmonious acidity. Adequate, rather moderate sweetness. Good length. Goes well with cheese, for example young Munster.
