Bright, well-transparent light red. Fine wood barrel note and equally fruity aromas. Primarily strawberry, but also raspberry, not least a dash of cassis. Reminiscent of a Kir Royal on the nose. Fine tannin note on the palate, highly aromatic fruit fullness. Semi-sparkling wine character. Excellent balance. Good length.

Rose gold. Very fine perlage. Elegant bouquet with subtle yeast note and discreet fruit with hints of small and crisp yellow-red apple. Finest mousseux, creamy fruitiness, some strawberry on the palate, flavours of honey and white chocolate. Everything fits together like a mosaic. Very long. A hint of tobacco in the finish.

Lemon yellow with rich reflections. Distinct vegetal scent with subtle fruity hints of peach pit. Quite concentrated and compact on the palate. Distinct herbal aromas, which we have already perceived similarly in the predecessor from the 2014 vintage. Dry taste without concealing residual sugar. Ripe acidity, very good length.

Straw yellow in colour. Aromas of passion fruit and star fruit on the nose. Exotic fruit fullness. Due to the recognisable malolactic fermentation, there are also hints of strawberry yoghurt with a vegetal note. Compact on the palate with a firm structure. Fine herbal flavour. Elegant acidity. Excellent length.

Full straw yellow colour with Gothic church windows at the glass wall. Aromatic scent of herbs with hints of yellow fruit and exotic notes. Excellently matured, still firm and barely aged. Herbaceous flavour and elegant acidity on the palate. Juicy and expressive. Outstanding length.

Bright, luminous lemon yellow. Constantly changing bouquet. Initially honey-spicy and slightly floral, with a certain exoticism on the nose that reminds me a little of a fully ripe persimmon fruit. Subtle hints of carambola. With a little air, more dried herbs and tobacco. Always alternating between spice on the one hand and fruit on the other. Extremely expressive on the palate, yet anything but overloaded. Delicately creamy. Almost perfectly integrated acidity. Restrained hint of residual sweetness. Outstanding length, excellent persistence.

Fermented with a proportion of whole grapes in a stoneware tank. Lemon yellow in colour with straw-yellow reflections. Puristic aroma of stone fruit with a fine herbal flavour. Simply Riesling, and at the same time more. Admittedly, the Steinzeug Riesling is not a charmer on the tongue. Nevertheless, it should not only be enjoyed by stone-suckers, provided they are prepared to give the wine a few more years in the bottle. Because it urgently needs it. It hints at where the journey could take it as soon as it gets some air. Then the initially piquant acidity becomes more and more integrated, creating a harmonious, well-balanced overall structure. Outstanding length. Still very youthful, great potential. An investment for the future.

🯅The rating of the wine is based on a single taster. The taster is named in the context of the rating. The tasting was either open or blind. In case of a blind tasting, it is explicitly labelled as such.
🯅🯅The rating of the wine is based on two tasters. The tasters are named in the context of the rating. The tasting was carried out according to the four-eyes principle, in which both tasters agree on a joint rating.
🯅🯅🯅The rating is based on a tasting by our jury and indicates the Mean value calculated by us from the individual ratings of the tasters. Our mean value is based on the median.
The wine was evaluated in a blind tasting. We have strict rules for blind tastings. The tasters do not receive any information that would allow them to identify the wines. The tasters are only given access to further information that goes beyond the subject matter if it is absolutely necessary for understanding the wines.
🕓We only had limited time to taste the wine  - typically during an open tasting event, such as a wine fair. It was therefore not possible to observe the development of the wine in the glass over a longer period of time. The informative value of our rating may therefore be limited under certain circumstances.
The wine was tasted as a barrel sample or before an official test number (Amtliche Prüfungsnummer or Staatliche Prüfnummer) was issued. We only accept samples of unfilled wines in exceptional cases, and then only if we can assume sufficient stability in the bottle for a period of at least three months.
During our tasting, the wine showed conspicuous sensory characteristics. This does not necessarily have to be a wine fault. We categorise the quality and quantity of the abnormality and include it in the rating. Wine faults such as cork taint or an atypical ageing generally lead to a complete rejection.
Tastings that refer to the same bottle of a wine are visually summarised by a dotted line.
