Full straw yellow colour. Partly vegetal, partly floral aroma of white flowers and green herbs. Needs a lot of air in its current stage of development. Only opens up on the second day. Puristic and focussed, with fresh acidity and clear grapefruit on the long finish. Still a rough diamond that needs time.

Lemon yellow. Restrained fragrance, as in other vintages, with a distinctly herbal component. A hint of woodruff. Also herbal on the palate with herbaceous spiciness. Surprisingly fresh for the hot and dry year 2018. Very good length.

Bright, luminous golden yellow. Multifaceted pineapple scent. Delicately creamy on the palate, with herbal components and a certain astringency. Fine, elegant and well-buffered acidity. Seems a little monolithic and closed at the moment, but could benefit from further bottle ageing. Grapefruit on the finish. Excellent length. Not entirely certain prognosis.

Yellow-green to straw yellow. Discreet bouquet with a hint of pear, white currant and some cherry. In addition, white flowers and caramel on the nose. On the tongue distinctly herbal and earthy with flavours of green gooseberry. Ripe acidity. In the long finish, hints of sour and morello cherry.

Bright, light golden yellow. Citrus-fruity nose with hints of flint in the background. Only with a little air do aromas of pineapple emerge, discreetly at first, later quite clearly. On the tongue herbal and herbaceous spicy, marked by a ripe, vibrant and spicy acidity. Pineapple again. Expressive and animating. Excellent length.

Full lemon yellow. Complex, herbal aroma of apricot, turmeric and flint with vegetal hints of potato peel. On the tongue again flint and mainly vegetal flavours. Delicately creamy. Shows structure with fine acidity, honey spice and some citrus. Floral touch. Contrary to the vintage trend, a very fresh and animating 2011. Excellent length.

Brilliant golden to amber yellow. Multi-layered nose of a mature dry Riesling with finest peach notes. Still very vital, at rest, with fine acidity. Glides harmoniously over the tongue. Excellent depth. Lingers for a long time. A wine that remains in the memory.

🯅The rating of the wine is based on a single taster. The taster is named in the context of the rating. The tasting was either open or blind. In case of a blind tasting, it is explicitly labelled as such.
🯅🯅The rating of the wine is based on two tasters. The tasters are named in the context of the rating. The tasting was carried out according to the four-eyes principle, in which both tasters agree on a joint rating.
🯅🯅🯅The rating is based on a tasting by our jury and indicates the Mean value calculated by us from the individual ratings of the tasters. Our mean value is based on the median.
The wine was evaluated in a blind tasting. We have strict rules for blind tastings. The tasters do not receive any information that would allow them to identify the wines. The tasters are only given access to further information that goes beyond the subject matter if it is absolutely necessary for understanding the wines.
🕓We only had limited time to taste the wine  - typically during an open tasting event, such as a wine fair. It was therefore not possible to observe the development of the wine in the glass over a longer period of time. The informative value of our rating may therefore be limited under certain circumstances.
The wine was tasted as a barrel sample or before an official test number (Amtliche Prüfungsnummer or Staatliche Prüfnummer) was issued. We only accept samples of unfilled wines in exceptional cases, and then only if we can assume sufficient stability in the bottle for a period of at least three months.
During our tasting, the wine showed conspicuous sensory characteristics. This does not necessarily have to be a wine fault. We categorise the quality and quantity of the abnormality and include it in the rating. Wine faults such as cork taint or an atypical ageing generally lead to a complete rejection.
Tastings that refer to the same bottle of a wine are visually summarised by a dotted line.
